This deep-energy retrofit is the first certified Passive House residence in Cold Spring, NY.

Seated on the bank of the Hudson River, this certified Passive House builds on the same footprint as the original home which experienced significant flooding during Super Storm Sandy. The structure was raised and 12 inches of rigid foam insulation were added to the existing slab along with a vapor barrier and an additional 4 inches of concrete.

Sustainable Features Include:

  • Super Energy Efficient Building Envelope with Thermal Barriers

  • High Performance Windows with Airtight Construction

  • Mechanicals Mounted 4ft Above Floor

  • 8kw Solar Array

  • Locally Sourced Hemlock Exterior

NugentCM was the general contractor for this project.
